Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 May 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the Offcue mobile app ("Offcue," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the app. Offcue is designed so that your scripts and recordings stay on your device. The categories of data described below are limited to what we need to run the app and provide subscription access.

1. What we collect

Anonymous device identifier

When you first open Offcue, the app signs in anonymously to Firebase Authentication and is assigned a random user ID. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or any other personal information. It is used only to keep your subscription state attached to your install.

Crash and diagnostics data

We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive automatic crash reports and diagnostic information when the app crashes or encounters an unhandled error. This helps us fix bugs. These reports include device model, operating system version, app version, and the technical stack trace of the crash. They do not include the contents of your scripts or recordings.

Usage analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage events — for example, which screens are opened, how often the recording flow is used, and which onboarding steps are completed. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individual users. We do not enable IDFA (Apple's advertising identifier) or any cross-app tracking.

Subscription and purchase data

If you purchase a subscription, billing is handled by Apple's App Store or Google Play, and the resulting entitlement is managed through RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives the anonymous device identifier described above, plus the purchase receipt issued by the store. We do not receive your name, email, billing address, or payment-card details — those stay with Apple or Google.

Camera, microphone, and photos

Offcue requests camera and microphone access in order to record video. Recordings are processed and saved locally on your device. They are not transmitted to us or to any third party. If you opt in to "Save originals to Photos" in Settings, Offcue writes a copy of your finished recording to your device's Photos library — we never read from Photos.

Notifications

With your permission, Offcue may send local push notifications (for example, reminders related to your subscription trial). You can turn these off at any time in your system settings.

2. What we do not collect

3. Third-party services

Offcue uses the following third-party services to operate:

Each of these providers has its own privacy policy describing how it handles the information it receives.

4. Data retention

The anonymous device identifier persists for as long as the app is installed on your device. Crash and analytics events are retained by the respective providers according to their default retention windows. Your scripts and recordings live on your device and are deleted from our reach the moment you delete them from the app or uninstall the app.

5. Children

Offcue is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information that we should remove, please contact us.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete information related to you. Because Offcue uses an anonymous device identifier and does not collect personal information, these rights primarily apply to the diagnostic and analytics data described above. To make a request, contact us at the email below.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the app.
